Following my desicion to give the Midtoon Alternate Universe its own space and its own identity (while still following the original storyline) I present to you the first "Alternate Original". In the original version, Jennifer knew about the telescope and covered her windows with blue and gold drapes, but we never saw if she did anything else. On the ALT version, we have Jeffrey's reaction to it.
My test readers (i.e. family) had diverse reactions to it. On the one side, some were opposed to the idea that Jeff would lift weights, because we have never seen Jen lift weights on the original. but on the other, there was agreement that the alternates might show different implementations of the same behaviors based on their gender. Clearly, I can't follow the original storyline to the letter, or else I'll have to find an explanation for pregmant men.
So, in short, YES, some things will change, and NO, the general story line will not. Oh, and one last thing, since the first season of Midtoon was relatively fragmentary when compared to later seasons, I foresee more original episodes both to tie everything together and to work around some things that would otherwise make no sense in the alternate universe.
