Midtoon to charge for subscriptions

In an unprecedented move, Erik Campos, creator of Midtoon and Neftali Rivera, Executive Producer, announced in a public statement that Midtoon.com subscriptions will not be free for much longer.

"I read an article a couple of years ago," said Mr. Rivera. "It was about this man who places four car wheels on his driveway with a sign that said 'free'. Two weeks later, the wheels were still there. The man changed the sign for one that said $20.00 and the next morning he discovered that the wheels had been stolen. Perhaps by charging a small amount for the subscriptions, people will want them more."

Erik Campos could not agree more. "It is just a matter of economics," he said. "If you give something for free, people think one of two things; that either the product is not worth anything, or that there is a hidden catch somewhere. I think that by charging money up front, those misconceptions will fade away."

Both executives agreed that they would not charge fees to their current subscribers. "These people have been with us since the beginning and they deserve to be free subscribers, however, people who come later will need to pay."

None of them could say when the paid subscriptions would start or how much would they be. "We are in the market study stage" Said Rivera.

Erik Campos suggested that there is still time to subscribe for free and invited all current subscribers to invite their friends and relatives to come visit and become members "before it is too late".

This reporter thinks that if they cannot distribute enough copies for free, much less will they be able to do it for a fee.
